English: The 1297 version of Magna Carta. This copy was formerly owned by the Brudenell family and the Earls of Cardigan, and later the Perot Foundation. David Mark Rubenstein, co-founder and Managing Director of The Carlyle Group, acquired the document in 2007 and loaned it to the National Archives and Records Administration. It is now on public display in the West Rotunda Gallery of the National Archives Building in Washington, D.C., USA.
